Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) is a multi-stakeholder platform for public policy on internet and its impact on society. For almost a decade, the forum draws in discussions and incubates collaborations for the developments of universally affordable, accessible, non-discriminated, secure and sustainable internet across the region.

Starting in 2010, APrIGF is a prime annual conference in its area for the region where regulators, businesses, civil society organizations, rights groups, academics, and government officials share information and brainstorming on current and emerging internet issues and solutions. In 2016, more than 300 participants from over 20 countries were contributed to nearly 40 workshops and working meetings. Discussion points, also in a form of ‘Synthesis Document’, from this regional forum is linked to the global Internet Governance Forum, which is established formally by the announcement of the United Nations Secretary-General in July 2006.

The 8th APrIGF will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 26 to 29 July 2017 at Chulalongkorn Unviersity. It is co-hosted by Chulalongkorn University, the country’s oldest university, and National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, the country’s media regulator, with supports from local, regional, and global partners. Over 500 participants are already registered for the event, as of 21 July 2017.

The conference program will consist of three parts: the “pre-event” meetings, the “core conference,” and the “Youth IGF Camp.”
